Environment Practice

With this project I once again followed the teachings of Youtuber Unreal Sensei, utilising his 5 hour tutorial on UE5.1

All assets were supplied by Unreal Sensei or Quixel Bridge, this is merely me arranging things in a pretty way.

This tutorial walks you through landscape building, large, medium & small details (rocks/ledges, trees/bushes, grasses/flowers). It is still a work in progress, but I have completed the landscape, environment structure, most of the large detail, a large portion of the medium detail. Yet still to do the small detail.

I made heavy use of the Nanite function for models and foliage, so this is not the best case scene for a game.

I set up a couple of vantage points early on and noted progress at each point. below you can see how the scene has evolved!

Rock Placement

Probably the most time consuming thing was (and still is) the placement of the cliffs/rocks, though it was very satisfying upon completing each area.
